The Vulcan Renewables Community Fund has been created to support local projects and community groups located within a one mile radius of the biogas facility. 


Our Ambitions


Being a positive force in the local community is one of our core ambitions - we aim to provide economic, social and environmental benefits to the local community in which we operate. 


We also aim to work closely with local residents and stakeholders to ensure that local community benefits are seen directly as a result of our support. 

Our Support


The community fund is available for the purposes of supporting the local environment, educational, amenity or other appropriate, not for profit intiatives/groups in the local area. 


We would like to focus our funding on projects and organisations within a 1 mile radius of the biogas facility, however, under exceptional circumstances proposals within up to 3 miles from the facility will also be considered.

The community fund will be available each year for the operational life of the plant, with new projects and organisations selected each year.

Application Process and Dates


Applications for the 2020 Vulcan Renewables Community Fund 



The community fund is open to applicants for financial support within the chosen radius of the biogas facility who's aims and project(s) meet the funding requirements.

Important Dates - update April 2020


Due to current circumstances, the application deadline has been initially extended until June 30th 2020 and the review period will take place thereafter. We will continue to review these dates during the coming months and will publish any changes accordingly. 


The annual deadline for submissions is 31st March 2020.


During the review period (April 2020) the community fund trustees will review all of the applications.

Please note this will take place within the same timescales every year. 


The selection process will be based on meeting one or more of our key requirements;


  • Social Sustainability
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Educational Promotion


Successful applicants will receive funding levels determined by the number of projects/groups selected each year, however we intend to support 2-3 projects/groups per year. 


Applicants can apply for funding for consecutive years and will be considered in line with other eligible applications.
